How to have CSS width not account for alpha (transparent space) [closed]

The width property of an img element does not take pixel transparency into account. If you need that then you're out of luck. Perhaps, however, what you really want style-wise could be accomplished via the shape-outside CSS property, with the shape-image-threshold and shape-margin properties playing supporting roles.
