I am working on implementing geofencing on a standalone wear os app. I have made a setup that works on my phone, but when I try to make a similar setup using geofencing api on my watch, it gives me the GEOFENCE_NOT_AVAILABLE error.
I have looked around here on StackOverflow and found this: Android Wear Geofence calling addGeofences-method returns Exception: 1000, suggesting that geofencing just isn't available on wear os, but since the post is more than 5 years old, I thought there might be some updates.
I have tried to figure out if wear os is now supporting geofencing, but I cannot find any straight answer on either Androids sites or Samsungs sites.
The watch I'm using is a Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 pro running wear os 5.
So my question is: Is it possible to have a wear os app, which uses the geofencing api to send a notification when the watch exits and enters a geofence? And if so, how?
